Batch Plant Operator / Dispatcher

Island Ready Mix Ltd. – Campbell River, BC

Island Ready Mix is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Batch Plant Operator / Dispatcher to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating concrete production, dispatching deliveries, and ensuring efficient daily operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor computerized concrete batching system.
- Accurately batch concrete according to mix designs and customer specifications.
- Coordinate and schedule ready-mix concrete deliveries.
- Lead and organize staff and participate in special projects.
- Communicate with customers, drivers, other plant personnel regarding orders and delivery schedules.
- Maintain production records and quality control documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other materials.
- Perform routine plant inspections and coordinate basic maintenance requirements.
- Troubleshoot production and scheduling issues as they arise.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Experience in ready-mix concrete, dispatching, construction, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries is considered an asset.




- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced workplace.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
- Class 3/Air Brakes is considered an asset.
