The Great British Shop is a family-owned British bakery and grocery, proudly serving our local community and customers across Canada through our online shop. We’re looking for a hardworking and friendly individual to join our team in Halifax, NS. This role is a perfect blend of in-store shop assistant duties and online order fulfilment, helping us create an exceptional shopping experience both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities

- Customer Service (In-store & Online):

Provide outstanding customer service in person, by phone, and via email. Support online customers with enquiries through Shopify and social media, ensuring the same level of care as in-store shoppers.

- Processing Sales & Orders:

Process customer transactions at the till. Pick and fulfil online orders with accuracy and care, ensuring items are correct, well-packed, and dispatched on time.

- Inventory & Stock Management:

Maintain accurate stock levels across the shop floor and online store. Restock shelves and bakery fridges, keeping displays tidy, well-organised, and inviting.

- Wholesale & Retail Packing:





Assist in packing baked goods for retail and wholesale orders. Follow packaging guidelines for frozen and baked products, ensuring correct labelling and quality control.

- Store Presentation & Cleanliness:

Keep the shop front, counters, and packing areas clean, organised, and welcoming for customers.

- Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the team to manage daily priorities, coordinate wholesale and online orders, and keep everything running smoothly.

Requirements

- Strong attention to detail, especially when picking and packing orders.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Shopify software is preferred.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or order fulfilment is an asset.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, friendly team.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
