Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, or financial reporting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and working papers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Principal Duties:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals and related financial and statistical reporting
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare monthly financial variance analysis for assigned departments and programs
- Partner with departmental leaders to review financial performance, identify risks, and support informed decision-making
- Support the annual operating budget process, while working closely with internal hospital leadership
- Prepare Ministry of Health, Ontario Health or other financial reporting requirements
- Support the development of Power BI dashboards and other financial reporting solutions
- Prepare annual audit working papers and liaise with external auditors as required
- Participate in strategic initiatives, process improvement projects and ad hoc financial analyses
- Perform other duties as assigned
