Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and a commitment to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and asphalt to various job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups effectively.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper weight distribution in the truck.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, materials transported, and any incidents that occur during operations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving on public roads or job sites.
- Perform basic maintenance on the truck as needed, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
Skills
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including dump trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and site supervisors.
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for this position.
- Familiarity with paving processes is a plus, enhancing versatility on the job site.
