We are seeking a dependable and skilled Roller Operator/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves operating heavy equipment, assisting with paving and concrete work, and supporting various construction activities. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge, construction experience, and the ability to work safely in a agile environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in heavy equipment operation and construction processes while contributing to high-quality project completion.
Responsibilities
- Operate roller compaction equipment to ensure proper soil and asphalt compaction for paving projects
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks to support concrete installation projects
- Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, and other construction equipment as needed
- Support construction crews with tasks including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents and ensure compliance
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of job sites,
including moving materials and tools efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy equipment such as rollers, loaders, excavators, or similar machinery
- Construction experience, particularly in paving, concrete forming, or related fields is highly desirable
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles if required for site transportation
- Experience with concrete finishing techniques is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary
- Valid driver’s license preferred; reliable transportation is beneficial
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or construction roles is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
