Responsibilities
- Safely operate boats according to established navigation and safety procedures, ensuring passenger and crew safety at all times
- Conduct pre-departure inspections of vessels, including rigging checks and mechanical system assessments
- Assist with loading and unloading passengers and cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and addressing needs promptly
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, inspecting rigging equipment, and reporting mechanical issues
- Follow all safety protocols during emergency situations or adverse weather conditions to protect passengers and crew
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, safety checks, maintenance activities, and incident reports
Experience
- Prior experience operating boats or similar watercraft in a professional setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and mechanical systems relevant to boat operation is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse groups of passengers
- Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks confidently
- Minimum boat certificates of SVOP MEDA3 and first aid level one. Issued from Transport Canada.
