Job Information

PURPOSE

Fit, cut, weld, grind, mark and bundle structural steel in accordance with customer’s orders/shop drawings

JOB TYPE

Full time, Part-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
- Operate band saw to cut structural steel materials to specified lengths.
- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Procut Steel’s vision and values.
- Be able to measure, fit, weld, grind, mark and bundle steel material
- Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
- Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
- Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
- Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Must be able to know the basics of reading a blueprint or shop drawings
- Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate measurements
- High School Diploma or equivalent

SPECIAL DEMANDS

- Must be familiar with, and adhere to shop safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to work overtime when required
- Must be able to work any shift

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Some heavy lifting may be necessary
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

EXPERIENCE

- Fitting: 3 years
- Welding: 3 years
