Job Title: Training Support Personnel

Reports to: Maintenance and Operations Supervisor, and/or Training and Operations Manager

Location, Hours, Compensation:

Primarily based out of Survival Systems Training Limited’s (SSTL) main office at 40 Mount Hope Avenue, Dartmouth. Deployments are required for this position, travelling within Canada and internationally.

SSTL hours are generally 0730-1630, Monday through Friday, with some variation as required by operations. This position is expected to be 40 hours per week.

This position is starting at $23.00 an hour, with opportunity for advancement based on qualifications.

Job Purpose:

This position’s primary role is to support SSTL’s various operations, including direct support of training programs and maintenance of operational equipment.

Primary Duties include (but are not exclusive to):

- Equipment maintenance, including vehicles, PPE, machinery, boats, and underwater egress trainers
- Hoist/crane operations
- In-water safety roles, including SCUBA diving and/or swimming
- Vessel support and operations, including being a crew member or operator on non-pleasure vessels
- Communicate with clients and/or engineers and fabricators
- Record keeping and documentation
- Working safely, and always ensuring protected working conditions

Physical Requirements:

- Swimming
- Outdoor activities, in all weather conditions
- General labor

Mandatory Qualifications:

- General mechanical knowledge/experience
- Valid driver’s license, with clean driver’s abstract




- Familiarity with MS Office and basic computer use

Desirable Experience / Qualifications:

- SCUBA diving experience/certification(s)
- Boating experience/qualifications
- Fire fighting related experience/qualifications
- Lifeguarding and/or related qualifications/experience
- Pool maintenance experience/certification(s)
- Experience with overhead cranes/hoists
- Experience with compressed air systems
