When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada. Join us on event day in your local community. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability.

Description

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.

Tasks for this role include:

- Cheering participants along the route or at the finish line - this role is great for youth sports teams, school cheerleaders, etc.
- Spirit Squad volunteers are our cheerleaders along the route, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement to every participant. Pom-poms optional, smiles required!
- This is an active role in which you will need to stand for long periods of time

Why we need you

Together, we are changing the future of breast cancer. By joining the CIBC Run for the Cure this year and uniting your community together for the breast cancer cause,



you are helping us ensure we can continue to fund ground-breaking breast cancer research and clinical trials. Thanks to these investments in research and clinical trials, approximately 90% of women will survive at least 5 years after a breast cancer diagnosis. By being a part of the CIBC Run for the Cure, you are helping us make tremendous progress!
