A Canadian-owned company, Nova Pole International Inc. designs, manufactures and markets steel and aluminum poles for use in highway and street lighting, traffic signals, transmission towers, highmast and sports lighting poles.

Nova Pole is looking for highly motivated and driven individuals to join our Engineering Team.

The Position:

Nova Pole is looking for a local, self-motivated and disciplined individual to fill the position of Civil Draftsperson. As a Civil Draftsperson, you will be working under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager to produce concept design drawings for recent project proposals, and to produce shop drawings for standard products.

Responsibilities:

· Produce concept design drawings for custom products;

· Produce shop drawings for standard products;

· Managing standard shop drawings and part number systems for standard products;

· Develop and prepare design sketches;

· Develop and write technical reports and specifications;

· Consult with client, engineers and production specialists to establish product requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience in a design and drafting role is required;

· Experience with SolidWorks is a MUST;

· Experience with AUTOCAD is an asset;





· Bachelor or technologist degree in structural, mechanical or industrial engineering is an asset

· Experience in a fabrication/machine shop would be an asset;

· Strong working knowledge of reading, interpreting, and producing design drawings and shop drawings;

· Familiar with WorkSafe BC, CSA S16, and CISC standards is an asset;

· Familiar with standard steel and aluminum fabrication and welding practices is an asset;

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

· Able to work and contribute individually and as part of a team, being a self-starter;

· Deadline driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail;

· Willingness to learn and self-educate; ability to self-motivate;

· Must be a Canadian Citizen or have a Valid work permit;
