Priority Health Clinic is a growing multidisciplinary healthcare clinic committed to exceptional patient care and a supportive, collaborative workplace.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Office Assistant to join our team in a temporary Team Lead position for up to 24 months. This position is to provide coverage during a maternity leave, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role based on clinic needs and performance.
This is a working leadership role for someone who enjoys developing others, improving workflows, and helping a team succeed while continuing to work alongside them.
What You'll Do
As the MOA Team Lead, you will support the day to day operations of our administrative team while continuing to perform Medical Office Assistant duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to the administrative team.
- Coordinate daily workflow, patient flow, and staffing priorities to support efficient clinic operations.
- Manage daily staffing, including coordinating coverage for sick calls, vacations, and unexpected absences to help ensure the clinic remains appropriately staffed.
- Interview, hire, onboard, and train staff, students, and volunteers.
- Monitor administrative quality and ensure workflows are completed accurately and consistently.
- Support referral coordination, scheduling, and day to day clinic operations.
- Lead and facilitate monthly MOA Touchpoint meetings.
- Maintain and update clinic workflows, policies, and administrative resources.
- Assist with patient concerns and service recovery.
- Work closely with the Clinic Manager to support staff development, performance management, operational improvements, and clinic initiatives.
- Foster a respectful, accountable, collaborative, and team oriented workplace.
What We're Looking For
- Medical Office Administration diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of experience in a busy medical clinic.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Experience using electronic medical records. TELUS CHR experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast paced environment.
- A qualified, dependable, and supportive leadership style with a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
