THE ROLE – DISTRIBUTION SUPERVISOR - EASTERN
Browning Harvey Ltd. is currently looking for a full time, permanent employee for the role of Distribution Supervisor – Eastern. Based out St. John’s, this role will be responsible for distribution activities for the Eastern region of Newfoundland.
The Distribution Supervisor - Eastern provides leadership, training and coaching for effective distribution execution. Holding a Class 1 license, this role will also be responsible for providing vacation relief for Independent Distributors for approximately 30 weeks of the year.
In this position, the successful candidate will be also required to:
Ensure distribution requirements are met, including out-of-town distributors.
- Verify Company standards related to “Rules of the Road” and delivery protocols are maintained.
- Using a scheduled “on boarding” program, train, audit and coach third party distributors on methods to achieve compliance with distribution standards.
- Ensure third party (Independent) distributor compliance with company safety standards.
- Assess and monitor route delivery protocols/sequences for optimal customer service, cost effectiveness and productivity.
- Liaise with 3rd Party Service Providers to ensure fleet requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner (e.g. tire suppliers, mechanical repair shops, fleet graphics)
- Participate in the evaluation of key logistics indicators to achieve optimal customer service, cost effectiveness and productivity.
- Support fleet maintenance program to ensure sales driver/distributor compliance.
- Support accident investigations including reviewing accident reports with drivers, taking pictures and following up with 3rd parties.
- Support Fleet CAPEX purchases – identify needs, establish specifications and test-drive units
- Coordinate third party (Independent & Consignment) distributor activities with head office.
- Assist in the process of selecting and training a new third party (Independent & Consignment) Distributor.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- High school diploma, post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a distributor would be ideal
- Valid Class One driver’s license.
- Several years operating as a Driver, ideally in CPG industry.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Maintain effective communications with Warehouse Supervisors.
- Aptitude for computers and other technology.
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish actions in a fast pace, “Now” business
- Good analytical skills to assess and resolve issues
- Ability to provide professional and courteous service in any scenario.
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
