Job Summary

Tiny Hearts Childcare Centre is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our supportive and inclusive team. The successful candidate will assist educators in creating a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, are eager to learn, and value teamwork in a play-based childcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Support educators in implementing age-appropriate, play-based programming
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, meals, and rest periods
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate respectfully with families and team members as required




- Follow all centre policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements

Qualifications

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Experience working with children is an asset but not required
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
- Patient, reliable, and nurturing approach when working with children
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with educators
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (required)

Education

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
