We are a small but friendly office at the VGH Eye Care Center. We are looking for a full-time permanent front desk medical office assistant to join our team. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills in person and over the phone, attention to detail, skilled demeanor, and most importantly a great attitude. Attributes that we are looking for include ability to collaborate well with colleagues and doctors, a self-starter, responsible, dependable, good organizational and time management skills. The ability to adapt and learn quickly will determine if you are the right fit for our team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Checking in patients
- Scheduling appointments and follow ups
- Answering phone calls – including educating patients about clinic policies and triaging patient complaints
- Checking voicemail
- Triaging and filing incoming faxes
- Booking labs and other tests




- Notify patients of normal lab results
- Respond to EMR memos and tasks
- Set up/clean patient rooms

Schedule: Monday to Friday (averaging 8 hours per day)

Salary: $20/hr (negotiable depending on experience)

Skill Requirements:

- MOA Certificate preferred or a medical background
- Must be fluent in English. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese would be an asset, but not required.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to troubleshoot minor IT problems
- EMR experience (Plexia) would be an asset, but not required

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
