POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Molding Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for responding to breakdowns and for troubleshooting of injection molding machines, troubleshooting and maintaining auxiliary support equipment, performing preventive maintenance of molding machines and auxiliary support equipment, performing bench repairs to motors, temperature controllers, electronic cards etc. and assisting in regular housekeeping duties and other departments when required. POSITION RESPONSIBILITES Troubleshooting of Injection Molding Machines, including repairs to electrical related problems on Injection Molding Machines and maintaining machine controls and systems in a safe and efficient state

Troubleshooting and maintain auxiliary support equipment including repairs to all parts handling equipment

Perform Preventative Maintenance of Molding Machines and auxiliary support equipment by cleaning, adjusting, repairing and replacing faulty components as well as testing equipment for proper operation Performs Bench Repairs to motors, temperature controllers, electronic cards, etc.

Locates and replaces faulty components and tests for correct operation

Assist in regular housekeeping duties by cleaning and organizing parts, cleaning machinery and auxiliary equipment after electrical service, and maintaining the shop in a clean and orderly manner

Assists the various departments and team members when required and available by assisting production personnel in locating and correcting non-electrical related problems and assisting other maintenance department team members during peak loads





Ensure full communication of all information to next shift to ensure smooth running of production

Always comply with plant safety and HACCP, using appropriate PPE while performing various duties

Monitor and Ensure Health & Safety / HACCP & SQF / 5S Compliance, including proactively identify and suggesting ways to eliminate hazards and participating in safety Investigations when required. Must follow food safety and cGMP processes and procedures Note: Work is performed in a production environment with high levels of noise. Heavy lifting and prolonged standing is required.

Walking, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling and some repetitive arm, wrist and shoulder movements are required in this position.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Educational Requirements: Industrial Electrical license (in Ontario) required Minimum Experience/Field: Minimum 8 years of technical experience in a fast paced, high volume lean manufacturing environment.

Industrial

Electrician experience in the Plastic Industry, specifically in injection molded plastics and/or food packaging industry preferred.

Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints Computer Skills: Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with use of programming PLC’s Licenses/Permits Required: Industrial Electrical license (in Ontario) Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting and prolonged standing is required. Walking, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling and some repetitive arm, wrist and shoulder movements are required in this position.

Communication Skills: Proven track record working with people and problem resolution and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills Additional Education/Experience/Skills: Strong mechanical ability and proven ability to root cause and determine permanent corrective actions.



General knowledge of In Mold Labeling (IML) and injection molding operations is highly desirable. A bias for action and proven ability to deliver results.
