Notice of full-time support staff vacancy

The Opportunity: Provides technical expertise, support, and guidance to students on safety, equipment operation and safety, procedures and diagnostics of automotive service and repair; performs and supervises maintenance of shop equipment; designs and constructs teaching aids with students and professors. Maintains inventory of materials, tools, equipment and supplies to ensure sufficient shop inventories are on hand for shop classes. Prepares and maintains department records and documentation related to annual supply budgets, safety, tools and equipment.
Aids in research, acquiring quotes, and developing rationale for Apprenticeship Capital Grants and other specially funded projects. Facilitates a safe shop environment and participates in department promotional and marketing activities.
What you need to be successful:
- Certificate of Qualification in the Automotive Technician Trades (310S)
- Minimum five years of work experience in the Automotive Technician Trade
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge of a variety of software packages
- Solid commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Must possess ability to, and genuine interest in, meeting the educational needs of students, and sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural/ethnic backgrounds of the students
This is a full-time support staff position, 35 hours/week, Payband I – $40.39 - $46.64/hour (starting rate $40.39/hour).
NOTE: I/O, Appendix D and PT staff are considered internal.
