Seamstress – Custom Drapery & Window Coverings

About the Company

Our company is a leading custom window covering and home furnishing company specializing in custom drapery, blinds, upholstery, wallpaper, flooring, furniture, and decorative home solutions. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our production team.

Responsibilities

- Sew custom draperies, curtains, sheers, valances, Roman shades, cushions, pillows, and other soft furnishings.
- Read work orders and follow specifications accurately.
- Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics according to production requirements.
- Operate industrial sewing machines and other garment and drapery production equipment.
- Ensure accurate hems, pleats, linings, and finishing details.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards.
- Perform minor alterations and repairs when required.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Work closely with the production and installation teams to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with fabric handling, inventory organization, and other production-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of sewing or seamstress experience (experience with custom drapery or home décor products is preferred).




- Experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- Strong measuring, cutting, and sewing skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and production instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in custom drapery or window coverings.
- Experience working with upholstery fabrics, sheers, blackout fabrics, and decorative textiles.
- Knowledge of different pleat styles, hems, linings, and drapery construction techniques.
- Basic understanding of pattern matching and fabric layouts.
