Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a community-based facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment while providing a high level of customer service to staff, families, and visitors. This role requires a solid security presence combined with excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidence and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the facility.
- Monitor and control access points to ensure authorized entry and compliance with security procedures.
- Enforce access control policies and facility regulations in a professional manner.
- Monitor activities and identify potential security concerns or suspicious behaviour.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security-related situations.
- Assist staff, visitors, and community members while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct regular patrols and maintain awareness of the surrounding environment.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, including documentation of security-related events.
- Communicate effectively with management, clients, and security teams.

Qualifications:

- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Previous security experience in community, educational, corporate, residential, or customer-facing environments is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed during challenging situations.
- Strong incident reporting and documentation abilities.
- Professional appearance and positive customer service attitude.
- Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with children, parents, staff, and visitors.
