Shop/Equipment Supervisor

We're looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined Shop/Equipment Supervisor to help keep our equipment, vehicles, and shop running safely and efficiently. This role is critical to the success of our operations by ensuring our crews have dependable equipment and minimizing downtime through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

What You'll Do:

- Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained and operating to the highest safety standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and landscape equipment.
- Complete minor mechanical repairs, including:
- Small engine repairs
- Oil and filter changes
- Bulb and battery replacements
- Tire repairs and replacements
- Routine inspections and servicing
- Coordinate major repairs with qualified service providers when required.
- Work closely with management to plan for equipment downtime and minimize operational disruptions.

Inventory & Purchasing

- Order equipment parts and maintain an inventory of commonly used replacement parts.
- Purchase and stock shop supplies while adhering to purchasing guidelines and budgets.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

Shop Operations

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and maintained.
- Monitor shop safety and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Fleet Planning

- Inspect equipment regularly and identify maintenance concerns before they become major issues.




- Recommend when equipment should be repaired, replaced, or retired.
- Assist management with evaluating and purchasing new equipment and fleet assets.

Training & Support

- Train and educate crew members on routine equipment inspections, proper operation, and basic field repairs.
- Support crews by helping diagnose equipment issues and providing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Assist with additional projects and other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

- Mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining landscape equipment, small engines, trucks, and trailers.
- Ability to diagnose and perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance.
- Valid driver's licence required; DZ licence is considered an asset.
- Experience in fleet maintenance, landscaping equipment, agriculture, construction, or a related field is considered an asset.
