Prep Cook

Hourly Wage to Start: $19.14

Location: Lindsay, ON

Start Date: ASAP

Hours of Work:

2 Part Time

Line 1: 15 Hours Bi-Weekly, every other Monday Friday + Every other weekend off

Line 2: 13 Hours Bi-weekly, 7-2 Every other weekend

Available for other shifts as needed. Every other weekend required

Requirements:

- Current Food Handlers Certificate

Qualifications:

- Experience in large quantity food preparation
- Passion to demonstrate a creative flair for menu planning, food preparation and presentation
- Knowledgeable of special and therapeutic diets
- Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift.
- Able to work accurately, quickly, and safely
- Able to increase or decrease recipes to meet the needs of the retirement home
- An effective team player who works quickly & communicates well
- Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be an effective team player who works well with and teaches others




- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with senior residents and other team members

Candidate must use a knife, hand wash dishes and lift up to 50 lbs.

Shifts require team members to be on their feet for up to 7 hours per day.

Must adhere to all secure food handling practices.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare foods for residents & guests
- Review menus before preparing meals and prepares and serves them properly and attractively
- Ensures, practices and teaches use of proper food handling techniques
- Prepares and serves foods for therapeutic diets according to planned menus
- Assists in dish and pan washing
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen
- All other duties as assigned
