Health Care Assistant
Big Hearts Home Healthcare is looking for reliable health care aides to start regular and steady work immediately. We proudly offer regular shifts, full time positions and some of the highest wages in the home care industry. We aim to match our care aides and clients for a long term, trusting relationship and an optimal work-life balance. We service injured workers, accident victims, discharged patients and others. This position will be within the local area and applicants are encouraged to have a car to commute to client homes. Applicants are invited to apply and interviews will be held end of this week.

Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Health Care Aide provides direct care to clients to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of clients and in accordance with the home's policies, procedures and work routines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide general supervision to ensure client safety and well-being
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene
- Support with meal preparation and routine household tasks
- Encourage engagement in daily activities and provide companionship
- Assist with mobility, toileting, and basic care needs as required
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Follow established care plans and family/client instructions




- Administer medication as directed (if applicable)
- Support daily routines, including morning and evening care
- Accompany clients to appointments or outings when required
- Observe and report any changes in condition to the care team

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to read and write English/Other languages an asset
- Health Care Aide certification
- Driver's License Class 5 with own car
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- Regular lifting and moving clients, equipment and supplies
- Recent and clear Criminal Record Check
- Organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
- Proof of required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep B, TB, etc.
- Reliable vehicle and clean drivers abstract
