Our client, a manufacturing company located in the Mississauga, ON is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and company prevention programs.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve health and safety programs across manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions to improve safety performance.
- Perform risk assessments and support the implementation of effective hazard control measures.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, including conducting root cause analysis and developing preventative actions.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, reports, records, and occupational health and safety statistics.
- Lead health and safety onboarding programs for new employees and provide ongoing safety training.
- Identify training needs and deliver practical safety training related to hazard awareness, emergency response, and safe work practices.
- Promote employee engagement through safety talks, awareness initiatives, and continuous communication.
- Ensure equipment inspections and safety procedures align with regulatory requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and company standards.
- Develop and coordinate emergency response programs, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first-aid requirements.
- Support safe shutdown procedures involving employees, contractors, and equipment.
- Act as the primary health and safety resource for employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
- Participate in health and safety committee meetings, document discussions, and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Collaborate with operations and project teams to support secure installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Audit workplace practices to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and sustained.
- Assist in building and maintaining a strong safety-first culture across the organization.
What you will bring to the role:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing, food manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Knowledge of safety management systems and continuous improvement practices.
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or OSHA-related training considered an asset.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels.
- Ability to analyze situations, identify solutions, and implement practical improvements.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
