School Bus Monitor

Job Description

Bus Monitors support the bus driver during the trip to and from school each day and must be capable of managing a group of students of varying ages, needs and behaviors. This includes loading, securing, and unloading children in wheelchairs and car seats.

As a Bus Monitor, you will work a split shift,



working approximately 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. You will be assigned a route that falls between the hours of 6:00 am - 9:30 am in the morning and between 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm in the evening.

Bus Monitors work during the school year and are given time off in July and August and school holidays.

Requirements

- Ability to communicate effectively with children, co-workers, parents and teachers
- Organized, punctual and reliable
- Experience in childcare/working with children considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Clear Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check
- First Aid & CPR certification (covered by SOUTHLAND)

Job Types: Part time, Permanent

Pay: $22.47 per hour
