Tapagria Tapas Restaurant

Tapagria is a vibrant Spanish restaurant in Markham, dedicated to providing guests with authentic Spanish tapas dishes and cocktails in a friendly atmosphere. The kitchen will be responsible to provide food for up to 180 guests onsite including private event, offsite catering, uber eats and buffet sessions. We value hospitality, quality, and a welcoming environment for both our guests and team members. We are looking for an experienced cook to join our team. The candidate should have 2+ years cooking experience at a professional kitchen and passion in European/ Mediterranean/ Spanish cuisine.

Summary

We are seeking a Cook to join our team at Tapagria Spanish Tapas Bar in Markham. This key role involves leading food service operations, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Cook will contribute to creating an authentic Spanish dining experience that aligns with our mission of hospitality excellence.

Responsibilities

- Oversee food station and service to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant performance.
- Work with staffs and head chef to uphold high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service.
- Coordinate food preparation and presentation to meet authentic Spanish cuisine standards.
- Clean and wash equipment and keep kitchen area organized.




- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Work under the head chef to develop menus and improve service delivery.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guest satisfaction.
- Support training initiatives for current team members to uphold company values.

Qualifications

- 2+ years proven experience in food service as a cook, in an upscale restaurant, preferably expertise in Spanish Cuisine.
- Buffet/ events and upscale dining experience is a plus.
- Strong and helpful team player.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation.
- Fluent English.
