Overview
The Carpenter constructs, installs, and repairs building structures while adhering to company safety and quality standards. The Carpenter is a skilled tradesperson who uses a variety of tools and equipment to shape, cut, assemble, and install materials while ensuring projects are durable, functional, and visually appealing.

The Carpenter works under the direction of the Lead Carpenter and Project Manager and supports residential and commercial renovation and construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Responsibilities

Construction Activities

- Build, repair, and assemble frameworks, structures, and fixtures including walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim.
- Perform framing, drywall, finishing, renovation, and repair work.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install wood, metal, plastic, and other construction materials.
- Select and prepare appropriate materials for each project.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Project Execution

- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Follow project requirements, building codes,



and industry standards.
- Complete work according to company quality expectations.
- Identify potential issues and communicate solutions to the Lead Carpenter.

Safety & Quality

- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in site safety meetings and training activities.
- Conduct work with a strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience.
- Experience in residential and commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
- Solid understanding of carpentry methods and building practices.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer service.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
