The Coffee Exchange is a locally owned specialty coffeehouse in the heart of downtown Windsor. We're passionate about exceptional coffee, outstanding customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both our customers and our team.

We're currently looking for a Café Shift Supervisor to join our leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, supporting others, and helping create an outstanding experience for both customers and coworkers.

Position Details

- Full-time (approximately 33–38 hours per week)
- A combination of morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts
- Weekend availability is required
- Starting wage: $18.50 per hour, plus tips

As a Café Shift Supervisor, you'll work alongside your team to create a welcoming café environment while helping ensure each shift runs smoothly and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking initiative and helping a team succeed. The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous food service or café experience
- Previous experience in a leadership role such as Shift Supervisor, Team Lead, Key Holder, or a similar position
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
- The ability to remain organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence making decisions and solving problems during a shift
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of quality and service
- A willingness to coach, encourage, and support teammates while leading by example
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Solid attention to detail and pride in producing quality work

Key Responsibilities

- Lead shifts and help ensure the café operates efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers
- Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, and food according to company standards
- Delegate and prioritize tasks throughout the shift to keep operations running smoothly
- Coach, support, and encourage team members during busy periods
- Help train and mentor new employees
- Handle customer concerns professionally and confidently
- Operate the POS system and accurately process payments
- Help maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized café while following all food safety and sanitation standards
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive team environment
