We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Rust Proofing Technician to join our automotive maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying protective coatings and treatments to vehicle underbodies and other components to prevent rust and corrosion. Your work ensures vehicles remain durable, reliable, and protected against harsh environmental elements. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or removing existing rust to ensure proper adhesion of protective coatings.
- Apply rust-proofing treatments using spray guns, brushes, or other hand tools with precision and care.
- Inspect vehicles for areas vulnerable to rust and recommend appropriate protective measures.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently during the application process.
- Use heavy lifting techniques when handling large or heavy vehicle parts or equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area,
ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after use.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Experience
- Previous experience in automotive repair or dealership service environments is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in vehicle structures and corrosion prevention techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in rust proofing applications.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine duties.
- Mechanic experience or automotive repair background is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of dealership processes or automotive maintenance standards is a plus.
