The Industrial Welder is responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of stainless steel equipment and piping used in a beverage production facility. The successful candidate performs sanitary welding to ensure production equipment meets food safety, quality, and operational standards while minimizing production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow all rules, regulations and procedures as outlined in the Company's Employee Handbook.
- Perform welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components.
- Fabricate, install, modify, and repair food-grade processing equipment, tanks, piping, conveyors, pumps, valves, and structural supports.
- Perform sanitary welding on stainless steel process piping and production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with company quality standards and sanitary requirements.
- Polish and finish welds to achieve smooth, clean, food-grade surfaces.
- Assist with installation of current production lines and equipment upgrades.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform emergency repairs to reduce production downtime.
- Complete preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP requirements, workplace health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
- Any other required tasked assigned.

Requirements

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.




- Welder certification or completion of a welding apprenticeship is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of industrial welding experience, preferably in food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience performing sanitary TIG welding on stainless steel.
- Ability to read blueprints, welding procedures, and fabrication drawings.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety practices and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with sanitary process piping and food-grade equipment.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, conveyors, and processing systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Forklift, aerial lift, confined space, or lockout/tagout training is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

- Lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
- Perform physically demanding work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy manufacturing environments.

Working Conditions

- Food and beverage manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to welding fumes, heat, moving machinery, and production equipment.
- Required use of PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, flame-resistant clothing, and CSA-approved safety footwear.

Salary

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and shift premiums. Benefits may include health and dental coverage, retirement savings programs, paid vacation, and overtime opportunities.

Pay: $25.00-$36.00 per hour
