Job Summary

The Maintenance & Cleaner plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes—handling daily cleaning, tackling repairs, and making sure the pub looks its best for every guest who walks through the door.

This role is ideal for someone reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented—someone who takes initiative, stays productive without constant direction, and notices the small things before they become big ones. The right person takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever needed to support the team and keep the space running at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitation

- Keep the pub looking sharp with daily cleaning: sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and keep them fully stocked
- Empty garbage and recycling and dispose of waste properly
- Keep windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces spotless
- Maintain clean, welcoming common areas including dining spaces, hallways, and entrances
- Keep mop heads, cloths, and tools clean after use
- Follow all cleaning procedures and safety guidelines

Maintenance & Repairs

- Handle basic repairs like drywall patching, painting, and minor fixes to doors, locks, and washrooms
- Keep an eye out for issues and report anything that needs attention
- Take on small carpentry and improvement projects to keep the space in top shape




- Perform routine walkthroughs to catch problems before they become problems

Operations Support

- Assist with deliveries as needed
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other areas
- Install interior artwork and keep the space looking dialed-in
- Help decorate for holidays and special occasions—then take it all down and store it properly for next time
- Keep the patio clean, organized, and ready for service
- Handle snow removal, including shoveling and salting entrances and walkways

Health & Safety Responsibilities

- Follow all workplace health and safety protocols—no shortcuts
- Use wet floor signs and proper signage to keep guests and staff protected
- Wear and use PPE where required
- Handle cleaning products safely and in line with WHMIS standards
- Use ladders and equipment safely and responsibly
- Practice safe lifting and general workplace safety at all times
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions right away

Qualifications

- Experience in commercial cleaning or maintenance is an asset
- Comfortable using cleaning products and tools properly
- Works well independently and takes pride in a job well done
- Physically able to handle a hands-on role (lifting, moving, repetitive tasks)
- Clear communicator who can follow direction and stay organized

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
