We are recruiting a Personal Support Worker for our male senior employer with Dementia who requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living.

Our employer likes to eat, sleep and go outside for fresh air in community

Start Date:

- As soon as possible

Location:

- Victoria (Near James Bay area)

Shifts & Hours of Work:

- Casual, part-time, or full time permanent shifts
- 9:00am to 1:00pm and 4:30pm-8:00pm

Compensation:

- $24 to $25 per hour

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

- Personal care such as showering, dressing, toileting, sponge bath
- Meal preparation; Assist feeding, maintaining a clean kitchen, wipe table, countertop and stove
- Laundry and Linens
- Light cleaning: vacuum & mopping floors, maintaining clean bathroom; sink tub and toilet
- Administer medications
- Accompanying to appointments and activities
- Monitor Blood Pressure
- Record & report any changes in client's condiiton
- Assist in walking and mental exercises and range of motion/stretches
- Provide Companionship
- Push client in wheelchair outside
- Minimal lifting required (client walks semi-independently within his apartment building using a walker)




- Lifting and assistance needed from sitting to standing position (client wears transfer belt)

Required Qualifications:

- Professional Dementia/Long-term care - 1 year of experience required
- Must be fully vaccinated (2 doses)
- Yearly flu shot required
- Willing to be trained
- Non-smoker
- Patience and kindness are important
- Mandarin/Cantonese speaking at basic level preferred but not required
- Candidate must be able to handle weight up to 50 lbs.
- Driver's License not required
