Brookside Retirement Living is an 81 unit supportive and assisted living community for seniors in Kanata North. We are looking for hard-working, reliable and compassionate PSWs who can eventually be trained as UCPs. And/or currently trained UCPs.

** Must be able to work a minimum 2 shifts per week and up to 5 shifts per week with rotating weekends.

**Currently looking for days 7-3pm and evenings 3-11pm.

** Must have reliable transportation to our location in Kanata North.

Job Description

Working under the supervision of a Director of Care, the day Resident Attendance will provide a variety of resident-centric support. Attending to emergency call bells and leadership in emergency response plan.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

- Working with residents and providing one-on-one care such as assisting with personal care, and light housekeeping
- Ensuring the fulfillment of individual goals and needs as instructed in the resident care plans.
- Follow the resident care flow to ensure all residents receive plan of care on schedule.
- Attending to emergency calls for residents
- Helping residents with leisure activities
- Helping residents during meals
- Ensuring the health, safety, welfare, and independence of clients




- Assisting and satisfying the social and emotional needs of a client
- Documenting and recording daily care reports which may include resident incident reports, restraint monitoring, and medication administration.
- Adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations set by the province or territory

Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a Personal Service Worker certificate program preferred or experience working as a healthcare aide.
- Experience in working with seniors in a retirement or long-term care facility is also preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively (in English), with residents, their families, and other staff
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Current CPR training and certification.

Full-time and part time positions available.
