About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Barista / Café Assistant who is passionate about coffee, customer service, and working in a fast-paced workplace.
This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in all aspects of café operations—from making coffee to serving customers and maintaining a clean, welcoming space.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages to standard
- Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient customer service
- Take orders and process payments accurately (cash & card)
- Assist with food preparation and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all café areas
- Follow company procedures, safety, and sanitation standards
- Build robust knowledge of menu items and products
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment
- Be punctual, reliable, and take ownership of responsibilities
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Barista experience in Canada
- Experience working with professional espresso machines (essential)
- Latte art skills (preferred)
- Basic baking knowledge (an asset)
- Fluent in English (required)
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate (required before starting)
- Valid work permit with at least 12 months remaining (required)
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (preferred)
Availability Requirements
- Available 3–4 days per week
- Weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM) preferred
- Flexibility during business hours is essential
Position Details
- Part-time: 15–25 hours per week
- Opportunity for increased hours after successful trial period
