Job Title: Counter Attendant

Wage:$18.25 per hour

Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly, productive, and customer-focused Counter Attendant to join our team at a busy Chinese restaurant. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle orders accurately, and ensure a welcoming front-of-house experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers warmly and take food orders in person and over the phone
- Accurately input orders into the POS system and process payments (cash, debit, credit)
- Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and specials
- Package takeout and delivery orders efficiently and neatly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, dining space, and beverage stations
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation
- Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Restock supplies such as utensils, napkins, sauces,



and beverages
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in customer service or food service is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Familiarity with Chinese cuisine or menu items
- Experience using a POS system
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., English, Mandarin, Cantonese) are an asset
- Requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
