Role Description The Senior Construction Estimator is a full-time on-site role based in Lethbridge, AB. This role is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, including analyzing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. The Senior Estimator will review bid opportunities, coordinate with project managers and site supervisors, and participate in pre-construction meetings to clarify scope and pricing. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring market pricing, maintaining estimating databases, preparing tender submissions, and supporting budget development and value engineering efforts.



This position also involves regular communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project objectives and company standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs to prepare comprehensive and accurate project estimates.
- Experience working in Heavy Civil is required.
- Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to support financial planning, control project costs, and contribute to competitive bid strategies.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams and to present estimates clearly and confidently.
- Candidates should have proficiency with estimating software and MS Excel, along with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidates should have several years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a senior or lead role, and a background in civil, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Candidates should ideally have relevant education such as a diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and a strong understanding of local codes, standards, and procurement practices.
