A registered Not-For-Profit guided by an engaged Board of Directors, the organization provides events, resources, and support to enhance digital services for communities in the region.

Role Description Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Office Manager serves as the primary operational leader of MISA Prairies and acts as a strategic partner to the Board of Directors. The role is responsible for organizational leadership, governance support, operational excellence, stakeholder management, financial oversight, risk management, and execution of strategic priorities. The Executive Office Manager ensures continuity of operations and provides leadership across all organizational functions while supporting the Board in achieving its strategic objectives.

With assistance from member volunteers, this position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all elements of event management for MISA Prairies in-person events, end to end (with the exception of programming) at the direction of the Conference Chair. This includes the event design, planning, execution, and post-event summary of all pre, on-site and post-event activities. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all elements for hosting and facilitating virtual events.

This role provides both leadership and guidance to the volunteer Board of Directors. Working remotely from their home office, this individual is a motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against deadlines, has robust communication and relationship building skills. For in-person events,



the proponent is required to be onsite for the duration of the event. Due to the nature of the position and the board, this person MUST take initiative to identify work needing to be done, recognize when a board member needs help, and step up to fill gaps not recognized by the board.

The workload for this role varies throughout the year. Hours increase significantly in the months leading up to the conference, while summer months are typically slower. We estimate a minimum of 10 hours per week during quieter periods, rising to 40+ hours per week prior to and during the conference. Response should include an hourly rate for regular work along with a flat daily rate for in-person events, meetings, and the conference.

Qualifications

Education

- High School Diploma supplemented by one year business administration, administrative training or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, Governance, Communications, Project Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in increasingly senior roles involving operational management, executive support, governance, and organizational leadership.
- Experience working directly with a board of directors.
- Experience in non-profit membership-based or association organizations preferred.
- Minimum of 3 previous events acting as the event manager or equivalent.
