The Farm Services Worker is responsible for general farm work that relates to barn preparation prior to new flocks arriving. This includes cleaning, washing, & disinfecting barns. The Farm Services Worker will support with vaccinations, Bird transfers between facilities, Site maintenance & upkeep, and other farm related duties as required.

Schedule

The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 7:30am start time, averaging 40 hours per week. Weekend, evening and holiday work may be required based on operational requirements.

Position Accountabilities

- Remove litter from barns.
- Clean out, wash, & disinfect barns.
- Moving and handling live birds.
- Operate pressure washers, tractors, and other farm equipment.
- Assisting in equipment assembly if needed
- Property and grounds maintenance, ex: mowing, trimming, painting, shoveling, etc.
- Inform supervisor of issues or changes.




- Properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators as required.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
- Practice bio security protocol
- Follow all safety processes and procedures
- All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

- Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work with live poultry.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude would be an asset.
- Robust commitment to health & safety.
- Experience in the agricultural industry and/or food processing preferable.

- Valid drivers’ license with a clean drivers abstract is an asset.
- Experience operating farm tractors is an asset.
- Pleasant, outgoing personality, with a friendly positive approach to team collaboration.

Working Conditions

The position operates indoors and outdoors in a farm and barn environment. Work environment may be warm and humid, cold in the winter months, dusty at times with strong odours, and noisy. Standing for long periods of time and repetitive tasks are common.
