Overview

Van Mind Academy is seeking a passionate, patient, and experienced Math Tutor to join our growing team in North Vancouver. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and teenagers, can build positive relationships with students, and is committed to helping them succeed academically.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in mathematics, has previous tutoring or teaching experience, and can create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to learn.

Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one and small group Math tutoring for elementary, middle school, and high school students.
- Explain mathematical concepts in a clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand manner.
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student's learning goals and abilities.
- Assist students with homework, assignments, quizzes, and exam preparation.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the academy.
- Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning setting.
- Motivate students to improve their confidence, study habits, and academic performance.
- Maintain professionalism and punctuality during all tutoring sessions.

Requirements

- Previous tutoring or teaching experience in Mathematics is required.
- Strong knowledge of elementary, middle school, and/or high school Math.




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must enjoy working with children and teenagers.
- Patient, friendly, energetic, and reliable.
- Ability to build trust and connect with students from different learning backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree (or currently enrolled in a related university program) is preferred.
- Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- BC Teaching Certificate is an asset.
- Experience preparing students for school exams or provincial assessments.
- Experience teaching in a classroom or tutoring center.
- Ability to teach additional subjects is considered an asset.

Pay: $18.09-$24.50 per hour
