We are seeking energetic and dedicated Utility Arborists to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the safety, reliability, and aesthetics of utility corridors and surrounding landscapes. Your expertise will help ensure the safe operation of utility infrastructure while promoting healthy, thriving trees and vegetation. Responsibilities
- Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal using rigging techniques to ensure secure clearance around power lines and infrastructure
- Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts efficiently for elevated work tasks at various heights
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, mulching, and general horticultural care to promote healthy growth
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to map, assess, and document vegetation conditions and work sites
- Implement safety procedures during all operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to industry standards
- Assist with storm response efforts by clearing fallen trees or branches that threaten utility lines or public safety
- Support vegetation management planning by collaborating with team members on project scope and execution
Requirements
- Proven experience in arboriculture, landscape maintenance, or horticulture with a focus on utility or municipal environments
- Skilled in rigging techniques for safe tree removal and pruning operations
- Ability to operate bucket trucks, lifts, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with GIS software for mapping and data collection purposes
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to working at heights and around electrical infrastructure
- Strong understanding of horticultural practices relevant to urban or utility corridors
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL certification is a plus
