Job Posting: CNC Programmer & Shop Coordinator (Mastercam)

​Job Overview

​We are a lean, high-quality job shop looking for a talented CNC Programmer / Setup Operator who can also help keep the wheels turning on the business side. If you are an experienced machinist who loves the technical challenge of Mastercam programming, enjoys physical machine setup, and wants to learn or assist with light shop operations/admin, this is the perfect role for you.

​You’ll work directly with the owner, meaning no corporate red tape—just making good parts and helping run an efficient shop.

​What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

- ​Programming: Utilize Mastercam to create, edit, and optimize programs for 2-axis CNC lathes, Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), and a lathe with a C-axis (live tooling).
- ​Setup & Operation: Perform complete machine setups including tool selection, workholding/fixtures, setting offsets, and running first-article parts.
- ​Quality Control: Inspect your own work using standard precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure tight tolerances are held.
- ​Shop & Office Support:



Spend a small portion of your week assisting the owner with basic shop admin—such as material inventory tracking, job scheduling, updating spreadsheets, or helping quote new jobs.

​What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

- ​Mastercam Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience programming both milling and turning toolpaths in Mastercam.
- ​Machining Background: Proven experience setting up and operating Vertical Mills and CNC Lathes. (Experience with C-axis/Live Tooling is a major plus).
- ​Blueprint Reading: Ability to confidently interpret technical drawings, GD&T;, and process sheets.
- ​Computer Savvy: Comfortable jumping on the office computer to send emails, manage digital files, or use basic spreadsheet software.
- ​Small-Shop Attitude: Reliable, self-directed, and willing to wear a couple of different hats to get the job done.

Pay: $21.01-$37.96 per hour
