Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our team in creating delicious baked goods and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in cake decorating, food handling, and kitchen operations within a vibrant bakery environment. The Bakery Assistant will support daily bakery operations, assist with product preparation, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

- Prepared and baked bread and other bakery products.
- Mixed, weighed, and prepared ingredients according to recipes.
- Operated bakery equipment such as mixers, proofers, and ovens.
- Monitored baking times and product quality.
- Packaged, labeled, and displayed baked goods.
- Maintained a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Followed food safety and hygiene standards.
- Restocked ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Assisted customers with orders when required.
- Worked efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures at all times
- Package baked items for retail sale




- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and baking equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions and assisting customers in selecting products
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with food preparation and packaging tasks

Skills

- Experience in restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous, especially within the food industry or bakery setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and skilled demeanor
- Basic cooking and food preparation skills, including understanding of baking processes
- Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and follow instructions accurately

Pay: $18.75-$19.00 per hour
