Nedlaw Roofing Ltd. is looking for a dependable and safety-focused 0–8 Ton Crane Operator / Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for safely operating a 0–8 ton crane and roll-off truck to transport equipment, materials, and waste to and from job sites while supporting commercial roofing operations.The successful candidate will have experience operating cranes, a solid understanding of safe lifting practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.Responsibilities

- Safely operate a 0–8 ton crane while maintaining clear communication with ground personnel during lifting operations.
- Operate a roll-off truck to deliver and remove bins, equipment, roofing materials, and construction debris.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and crane equipment.
- Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and identify potential hazards before beginning work.
- Understand crane load charts, lifting capacities, and proper rigging practices to ensure safe operation.
- Inspect loads and ensure all materials are properly secured before transport.
- Complete logbooks, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately.
- Monitor the condition of the crane and truck and report maintenance or repair requirements promptly.
- Perform minor maintenance and basic troubleshooting when appropriate.
- Assist with loading, unloading, material handling, and general yard duties as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.




- Represent Nedlaw Roofing professionally and provide excellent customer service at job sites.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience operating a 0–8 ton crane or similar equipment.
- Valid DZ Driver's Licence (AZ is considered an asset).
- Experience operating a roll-off truck is preferred.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Strong knowledge of crane operation, load charts, rigging, and safe lifting procedures.
- Ability to perform pre-operational inspections and safety assessments.
- Mechanical aptitude to perform minor equipment repairs and routine maintenance.
- Ability to remain alert, focused, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in roofing, construction, steel, or industrial environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
