Position Overview
As a Community Support Worker, no two days are exactly the same. You'll help individuals build independence, connect with their community, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
A typical day might include:
- Supporting an individual at their paid job by providing encouragement, helping them stay organized with their tasks, offering guidance when challenges arise, and celebrating their successes.
- Assisting individuals at volunteer placements, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and make meaningful contributions within the community.
- Enjoying lunch together in the community, supporting individuals in making choices, practicing social skills, and fostering independence while dining out.
- Participating in recreational or educational activities, such as art classes, fitness programs, community events, or other group activities that encourage learning, creativity, and social connection.
- Providing transportation to and from work, volunteer opportunities, activities, and home in a safe and supportive manner.
- Completing documentation and planning at the end of the day to ensure quality support and prepare engaging activities for future programming.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle are required
- Valid Standard/ Intermediate First Aid Certificate is required
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
- Preferred: Experience in human services or support roles.
