The Summer Camp Counsellor creates a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children participating in RED Mountain Resort's Summer Adventure Camp. Counsellors lead outdoor activities that encourage confidence, teamwork, and a love of the outdoors while ensuring the safety and well-being of every camper.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise campers at all times and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace.
- Lead and assist with daily camp activities, including hiking, nature exploration, outdoor games, crafts, team-building activities, chairlift rides, and environmental education.
- Adapt activities to meet the age, ability, and needs of campers.
- Follow all RED Mountain Resort safety policies, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols.
- Conduct head counts, manage group transitions, and ensure safe loading and unloading during chairlift rides.
- Communicate professionally with parents, campers, and fellow staff.




- Complete attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Assist with the setup, care, and storage of camp equipment and supplies.
- Represent RED Mountain Resort with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification preferred.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to hike on uneven terrain and participate in active outdoor programming.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable spending the full day outdoors in varying weather conditions.
