Developmental Service Worker Instructor – Scarborough Campus

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Developmental Service Worker Instructor to join our faculty team. The ideal candidate will bring both professional expertise and a commitment to student success in preparing the next generation of Developmental Service Workers.

The instructor will be responsible for teaching and assessing students in the following subject areas:

- Developmental Disabilities
- Philosophy of Support
- Social Services
- Person-Directed Plans
- Intervention Strategies
- Teaching Strategies
- Responding to Abuse
- Health and Wellness
- Pharmacology
- Dual Diagnosis




- Community Building
- Professionalism

Requirements:

- Education: Diploma in Developmental Service Worker (DSW) or equivalent field is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or related discipline is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of four years of full-time qualified experience in developmental or social services.
- Teaching: Prior experience teaching adult learners or facilitating training programs is considered an asset.
- Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and online learning tools; ability to develop lesson plans and engage diverse learners.

Job Type:

- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 20 hours per week
- Type: Contract
