About Source Machine

Source Machine is a growing precision manufacturing company serving the energy, mining, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Operating from a modern 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Edmonton, we utilize advanced CNC equipment and continuously invest in new technology, training, and employee development.

We are currently looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join our team on day, afternoon, and weekend shifts.

Position Overview

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and producing high-quality precision components while working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Depending on your experience, the role may involve machine setup, process improvement, troubleshooting, mentoring apprentices, and CNC programming support.

Responsibilities

- Perform complete machine setups on CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding required for each setup.
- Produce precision components while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
- Monitor tool wear and make offsets as required.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production documentation.
- Work closely with supervisors, programmers, quality, and fellow machinists to improve processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.




- Mentor apprentices and operators where appropriate.

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Machinist certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years CNC machining experience (more experienced candidates encouraged to apply).
- Experience with CNC lathes, milling machines, or both.
- Ability to complete machine setups independently.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds and feeds.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Programming experience (Mazatrol, G-code, Mastercam, or Fusion 360) is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
