Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Communications (Fiber Optic) CAD Drafter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the design and drafting of fiber optic communication systems, ensuring accurate technical drawings and schematics that meet project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in electrical system design within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed CAD drawings for fiber optic communication infrastructure using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Bluebeam software.
- Develop schematics and system layouts for fiber optic cable routing, splice points, and termination facilities.
- Assist in drafting electrical wiring diagrams and system design documents aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to review design accuracy and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support the preparation of construction documents, including plans, sections, and details for installation teams.




- Utilize NavisWorks for 3D modeling and clash detection during project planning phases.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

Requirements

- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and NavisWorks is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of schematics, drafting principles, and CAD software workflows.
- Knowledge of fiber optic communication systems, including cable routing and splice point layouts.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts such as electrical wiring and system design is a plus.
- Construction experience or exposure to infrastructure projects involving fiber optics or electrical systems is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple drafts efficiently.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
