Senior All-Rounder (Seasonal)

Mid-August – End of September (Weather Dependent)

The Kalavida Surf Shop Senior All-Rounder plays a key role in delivering an outstanding experience for both retail and rental customers. As a seasonal waterfront business, many of our guests are visitors to the Okanagan, and exceptional customer service is our top priority.

This is a floating position, meaning you'll step in wherever support is needed and confidently manage the shop when working independently. We're looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and comfortable making decisions while providing an exceptional customer experience.

This is a short-term seasonal position. Paid training begins in mid/ end August, with regular shifts running through the end of September. As an outdoor business, scheduled hours are weather-dependent and may be adjusted or cancelled due to weather conditions.

General Duties

- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and memorable service to all customers.
- Open and close the shop independently, including securing the premises.
- Process POS transactions accurately, including cash, debit, credit, gift cards, refunds, and exchanges.
- Respond confidently to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and visually appealing shop.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Prepare and inspect rental equipment, including bikes, e-bikes, paddleboards, mega paddleboards, and kayaks.
- Ensure all rental procedures and safety requirements are followed before customers leave.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of retail products and confidently recommend items to customers.
- Restock merchandise and maintain attractive product displays.
- Follow all company policies,



safety procedures, and presentation standards.

Requirements

- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Available to work weekends and statutory holidays as required.
- Flexible to help cover shifts when needed.

Schedule

- Paid training begins mid-August.
- Seasonal position running through the end of September.
- Hours will vary based on business levels and are weather-dependent.
- Weekend availability is required.
