Washington Community Market is looking for a part-time Grocery Clerk to join our team!

This is an opportunity to be part of a community-focused social enterprise in the heart of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

Every day, our team helps provide affordable groceries, household essentials, and a welcoming environment for residents, community organizations, and local businesses. Whether you're stocking shelves, helping customers find what they need, or sharing a friendly conversation, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

We're looking for someone who understands and respects the DTES community, enjoys working with people, and wants to be part of a team that believes small, everyday interactions can make a meaningful difference.

You will:

- Demonstrate outstanding customer service such as greeting customers, explaining product features and directing customers to find the proper products, as needed.
- Operate a cash register and provide accurate change to cash-paying customers.
- Restock shelves when needed to ensure optimum availability of products.
- Unpack shipments in the storeroom and categorize them appropriately. Maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Assistant and/or Store Manager

You have:





- High School Diploma
- Excellent work ethic and time management skills
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form

You are:

- Able to lift packages or boxes up to 35 lbs.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Looking for a rewarding part-time position
- Highly motivated and team-oriented
- A doer who takes initiative, a excellent time manager and self-disciplined
- Comfortable working in the Downtown Eastside
