Build More Than a Fleet. Build a Career.
Curtis Powerworks Inc. is a growing, family owned and operated utility line construction company serving Newfoundland and Labrador. We operate and maintain a modern fleet of specialized utility equipment and are looking for an experienced Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to lead our maintenance department.
This is more than a mechanic's position. We're looking for someone who takes pride in building an organized, efficient shop, mentoring apprentices, improving equipment reliability, and helping shape the future of our fleet.
If you're looking for a long-term opportunity where your experience is valued, your ideas are heard, and your work directly impacts the success of the company, we'd like to hear from you.
About Our Fleet
You'll be responsible for maintaining and managing our company-owned fleet, including:
- Insulated bucket trucks
- Digger derricks
- Excavators
- Tractor trucks
- Track machines
- Service trucks
- Pickups and trailers
- Other specialized utility construction equipment
We maintain our own fleet only—no public repairs, no customer vehicles, and no flat-rate work.

As Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of our maintenance department
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programs
- Schedule repairs to maximize fleet uptime
- Mentor apprentices and support the development of junior technicians
- Coordinate parts purchasing and inventory
- Work closely with operations to prioritize equipment availability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using our fleet management software
- Promote a safe, organized, and professional shop environment
- Recommend improvements to shop procedures, tooling, and maintenance practices
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, leading by example, and building a maintenance program that supports a growing company.

- Leadership or supervisory experience in a heavy equipment environment
- Strong diagnostic abilities with hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and electronic systems
- Comfortable using manufacturer diagnostic software and computers

What We Offer

- Home every night
- Company-paid manufacturer training
- Health and medical benefits
- RRSP match program
- Modern, well-maintained fleet
- A clean, well-equipped shop
- Long-term career opportunity with a growing Newfoundland company

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who wants to build something—not someone simply looking for the next job.
You'll have the prospect to influence shop procedures, improve fleet reliability, mentor the next generation of technicians, and become a key member of our leadership team.
If you take pride in keeping equipment reliable, leading people, and continuously improving operations, we'd like to speak with you.
