Exploration Staffing Solutions is hiring for the role of Core Logging Geologist. The job entails collecting geological data from drill core as well as basic drillhole management. Work will be completed north of Prince George. Qualified individuals from across Canada are encouraged to apply. Accommodations are in an ATCO trailer style camp with private rooms and a camp kitchen providing daily meals. Travel, accommodations, and meals are provided. Rotations will be 15 days on and 13 days off.
Responsibilities
- Geological logging including but not limited to lithology, alteration, mineralization, and structures.
- Sampling specified zones of core.
- Drill management including daily drill visits to discuss hole progress, complete drill inspections, lining up drill, shutting down drill holes.
- Ongoing QAQC and monitoring of drilling quality through coordination with drilling contractor
- Taking responsibility for the core shack shared space including daily housekeeping, keeping stocked and supplied, and ensuring a safe and organized space for daily work and for incoming cross-shift.
- Daily data entry, data uploading, and activity/progress reporting.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidate has experience living and working in a remote camp
- at least 1 season of core logging experience is required.
- Drill management experience is ideal but not mandatory
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and time-constraints in a fast-paced remote workplace as part of a smaller crew (6 to 9 people).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with small and diverse teams
- Valid drivers license is an asset
- Must be a resident of Canada or have a valid and current work VISA
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Pay: $400.00-$440.00 per day
